Information that is stored

• The name of the remembered person, greeting text, optional sender name, and display preferences.
• Candle ID, memory ID, landscape coordinates, creation timestamp, privacy selection, and share image choice.
• Terms acceptance timestamp and version, unique submission key, cryptographic hash of management token, and network hash for abuse prevention. Raw IP addresses are not stored in database tables.
• Reports: candle ID, reason, client hash, timestamp, and review status.
• Moderation actions: admin ID, action type, and timestamp.

Purpose and Legal Basis

Data processing is carried out under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR):

• Publishing and displaying greetings: Consent (Art. 6.1 a). You choose to light the candle and approve its publication. You can remove your greeting at any time using your personal management link.
• Protection against abuse and spam: Legitimate interest (Art. 6.1 f). We process one-way cryptographic hashes of session and network data to prevent automated mass submissions and ensure platform stability.
• Review and moderation: Legitimate interest (Art. 6.1 f) and legal obligation. Reports and moderation audit logs are handled to take action against hate speech, harassment, and unlawful content.
• Administration security: Legitimate interest (Art. 6.1 f). Protecting administrative tools against unauthorized access.

Public and private greetings

Public names, texts, and chosen senders can be read, searched, and shared by other visitors. If you choose private, the candle burns in the landscape without exposing name or text.

Your private management link provides access to the greeting and the ability to delete it. Do not share this link.

Browser and local storage

Your browser saves references to your own lit candles and management keys locally (esh_mine_v1), along with your language preference (esh_locale). Session IDs are stored temporarily in sessionStorage.

Processors and service providers

We use reputable cloud providers with strict Data Processing Agreements (DPAs):

• Vercel: Provides web hosting, edge routing, and global content delivery.
• Supabase: Provides database services, file storage, and authentication within the EU/EEA.

Any transfers to third countries adhere strictly to applicable GDPR safeguards and Standard Contractual Clauses (SCC).

Retention period

Greetings are shown during the campaign's active operation. We do not guarantee permanent preservation; visitors are advised to save their text via the management link.

When you delete a candle yourself, it and its reports are immediately purged from the database and any stored share image is wiped.

Your rights

You have the right to request access to, correction of, or erasure of your personal data. The fastest way to delete a greeting is via your private management link.
